I’ve long admired how Clear turns simplicity into strength. His book Atomic Habits is great, but it’s his 3-2-1 newsletter has shaped my approach to my own content. In a world obsessed with content and performance, Clear models restraint, clarity, and purpose—exactly the posture I want to take with my own blog. Less noise; more mental nourishment. Here’s why I love him:
- He writes about writing and habits, often in the vein of writing and working out, two things that I’m passionate about and contribute to my simple life, big dreams approach.
- He believes small actions can engender big changes, which is modeled in the content he shares on the web. Many of you know my hesitation with starting this blog was putting more content out in the world when it’s already over-saturated. Clear’s work, particularly his 3-2-1 Newsletter, packs in a LOT without adding to the over-saturation, based in large part to his clever format. Check it out.
- His work is research-based, building on the ideas of others. He’s not necessarily trying to “influence” but share the deep work and research of others to draw higher level conclusions of his own.
Next Steps: Subscribe to the 3-2-1 Newsletter in which Clear shares 3 ideas from his own work, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question for you to ponder. If you enjoy it (or even if you don’t) check out his book Atomic Habits to learn how to level up your day-to-day to achieve more in a way that’s not overwhelming.
